Adoption Procedures
There is a $60 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE for all animals which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered there is a $35 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT upon proof of surgery. An adoption application must be filled out at the Shelter by the person wishing to adopt the animal. Once the application has been reviewed and approved the potential adopter may visit and meet any of the animals. All cats must leave the Shelter in a cat carrier. Please bring a cat carrier.
If a cat is at Petco, it will state it in the description. All other cats are available at the Shelter. You can visit our cats and kittens at Petco anytime during their regular store hours. Adoption applications are available at Petco for the cats residing at Petco. The store is located in the Target Plaza on Veteran's Memorial Highway in the Town of Batavia.
Cats available for adoption
Gingerella is an adult spayed female Orange and White DSH. Gingerella came to us already spayed. She is around 5 years old. She has a lot of hair loss due to fleas but is doing much better now with basic vet care, good food and a warm place to live. She is a really sweet cat who loves attention from the volunteers.
Peony is an adult spayed female Tiger and White DSH. She went through a TNR program, so her ear is tipped. But they found her to be friendly, so she came into the Shelter. She has been shy but very sweet. Everyone is spending time with Peony and she is coming around. She loves treats and belly rubs which we are rewarded with lots of purring!
Pete is an adult neutered male Black and White DSH. If you are looking for a handsome, tuxedo with white socks, Pete could be your perfect fit. Pete is a big hunk of love. He showed up at a volunteer’s house and wouldn’t leave her front porch. Could it have been because she set up a house with a heated bed and showered him with treats and love?
She already had several cats so he is now available for adoption.
Pete is very affectionate and adores the company of humans as well as other cats.

Working Cats
Periodically we get cats into the Shelter that are just not cut out for living in a home. They are happiest living outdoors. Some may be fearful of humans or have behavioral issues that make it impossible to live indoors. Regardless of the issue these cats, when given the right “home,” can live happy and productive lives. If you have a barn, stable, workshop, or warehouse you can save a life while receiving companionship and potentially expert, environmentally-friendly rodent control!
If you are interested in talking with a volunteer about adopting a working cat, please email us at info@vol4animals.org and include a phone number that we can reach you at.
