Stray
Needs leash work

Rufus is young and rumbustious. He probably has not had much training but he is more than willing to learn. He is a good walker on a no pull harness.

When you adopt a shelter pet you help to save two lives:
the one you bring home and the one who takes its place.

Calling all women, have we got a great companion for you. Sandy is a very sweet shepherd mix dog that just wants to be your little shadow. She ADORES women. She loves to get in bed and snuggle. She enjoys long walks but is just as happy being a couch potato with you and watching chick flicks. She is definitely a dog that just wants to be loved!

"IT'S TIME TO LEAD" + "INSPIRE LOVE"

This harness is good for you and your dog - it makes walks easier because it stops your dog from pulling, gives you control, and does not choke your dog.

This dog harness is engineered to help you lead . . . with Love. The main idea is to change lives, to save lives, and to positively influence communities across the country.

Here is a horrible statistic: 8 million companion animals are needlessly put to death a year. Many of these are shelter dogs, there because their owner found them "unmanageable".

Dogs bark and bite, and sniff and pull, growl, jump and pull. They also need a lot of attention. Positive attention. Sadly, many humans forget this when they get a dog, then they "discover" these facts and lament their "unmanageable" dog.

And because their dog is hard to walk, it's walked less. And Less. And the dog becomes more and more unmanageable. Dogs who are walked less often, often end up the pound.

We can turn the tide and save some of these dogs. If walking your dog is easier, your relationship with it will improve. Easier outside the house leads to easier inside the house. Using the dog harness we can help more dogs stay in the homes they come from.

When you purchase a harness, choose Volunteers For Animals and we will receive half the cost of your purchase (that is 100% of the retail markup). In addition, you can make a donation of $10 towards a purchase of a harness for one of our shelter dogs.

Thank you for your support!

Virginia obviously was a show dog - check out that pose! She was picked up as a stray at a gas station with a Virginia dog tag. If only she could talk - bet she has quite the story.
